Cultural Couture

  • If you and your family are unemployed

    Need food assistance

Or are on the whole economically disadvantaged

    Then YOU and They

(including the 60% of recipients who are children and seniors)

    Must be lazy all day.

    Let us pray.

Work, work, work, find a menial job!

    Be like Job!

Alms to the poor are no more.

    Be like me.

    Not slovenly.

This is the new cultural couture.

LOOK ABOVE

Look above!

Way up in the sky!

I'm on the tallest building
I could find
Where the birds don't fly

I have come up

With a new scheme

Just listen

Before you sigh

Recently
I have not had many comments

From poems by I
I'm about to jump off this building
Screaming

 "I Can Fly"!
Half-way down
I'll open the parachute

Which reads
C-O-M-M-E-N-T O-N M-Y P-O-E-M
I-F Y-O-U L-I-K-E

Flashbacks from a Presidential Campaign

The Gingrinch just stole South Carolina

Said

They'll be a Newt way

Of overseaing

Corporations to China

From all the Middle Class

South Carolinan's

There was considerable crying

And whining

Boo Hoo!

Emanated through the air

Overpowered by the

Microphoned Gingrinch's

Blinding stare

And reply of

In regards to Sally Lou Who

I do not care

An exasperated cry

Rang out from the crowd

Who'll take care of the least

The Gingrinch's reply

Complete with haughty laughter

I Will

By Eating Your Roast Beast!

THE MONEY TRAIL

Follow the money

See who's got the honey

And with media control

They'll have you believing

in the Easter Bunny

In the wondering why

The newspapers have  an anti-union scoop

It is all part in parcel

with Big Corporations

trying to get you

to play the dupe

Rile you up

about union-scale

Lazy and over-paid

is the Tall Tale

They want all workers

to join

in their newfound rave

So they can hire you

and make you

their no benefits

pittance pay

Working slave

Suggest there is unfairness

If you dare

How's about a Pension?

Maybe some Healthcare?

If you are naive

You will think

They have your back

Hence

be taken aback

When they say

Without the slightest dismay

Hit The Road Jack

LOVE STATION

Love Doth Teareth At My Heart!

Foul Insolence!

Know Thy Station

Breaketh Not The Arterial Flow!

Lest It Be Your Lust

That Waiteth

For immortality!

THE FALL

The crescendo of the leaves

Combined with a cool

Crisp blustery breeze

Children toting animated backpacks

Squirrels nervously adding

To their winter stacks

Trees putting on a colorful display

Vying for attention

As they gently sway

Invites to attend the Monsters Ball

All Uplifting

To the Soul

These signs of

The Fall

THE LANDS OF GIZA

From the lands of Giza

Comes a story

That pre-dates Caesar

It existed

Before written text

When ye be with Pharaoh

Or else Subject

When at birth

The die is caste

Where some will gorge

And others fast

Many have tried

To change the plans

Just to perish

in desert sands

Their bones cannot

Tell the story

Yet their souls

Rejoice!

In Glory!
